Estimating Analyst

The Role

MJE, LLC is looking for a detail-oriented, numbers-minded Estimating Analyst to join our team in Montezuma, Kansas.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone interested in construction, estimating, project costs, and data analysis. Previous estimating experience is not required. We’re looking for someone who is organized, accurate, comfortable working with numbers, and ready to learn how large-scale construction projects are estimated and managed.

The Estimating Analyst supports our estimating and construction teams by maintaining accurate estimate and job-cost information, organizing bid documentation, gathering vendor pricing, and helping compare estimated project costs to actual results.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain estimating and job-cost information in HCSS HeavyBid
  • Enter cost codes, budgets, and project updates in HCSS HeavyJob
  • Prepare, review, and organize estimate and bid documents for estimator review
  • Obtain pricing and quotes from vendors and suppliers
  • Maintain supporting pricing and estimating documentation
  • Assist estimators with bid preparation, including:
    • Printing and organizing project plans and specifications
    • Creating and updating bid items
    • Updating certified payroll and prevailing wage rates
    • Preparing supporting documentation for estimates
  • Assist with job-cost analysis by comparing estimated costs to actual project costs
  • Help identify cost trends and variances that can improve future estimates
  • Work with estimators, project managers, and other team members to keep project information accurate and up-to-date

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Teams, and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication and follow-through
  • Willingness to learn construction estimating and job-cost processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Construction estimating, accounting, or job-cost reporting experience is helpful, but not required
