Heather deftly balances two demanding full-time jobs of mother and business owner, serving as the company’s chief estimator while supervising marketing and financials. She serves on the Kansas Contractors Association Board of Directors and has been with MJE for 19 years, holding a master’s degree from Kansas State.

Justin’s day might be filled up with designing, communication and management at the Montezuma office or it could be in his truck on the way to on-site project management of feedyard or dairy constructions. Away from work, he serves in leadership positions on the USD 371 Board of Education and at his local church.

He strives to make a difference every day, putting that in action through Reach Out Worldwide, an organization that provides disaster relief.

The daughter of small-business owners, Chrissy gained experience managing finances and allocation at companies in northeast Kansas before returning home to the southwest part of the state. She’s been an integral part of MJE’s success and expansion since joining the company 11 years ago, overseeing its accounting.

Shannon joined MJE in 2016 as director of human resources and safety, with expertise in HR management and decision-making. She is responsible for all recruitment needs, hiring processes and our safe working conditions. Shannon’s a member of the National Safety Council and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Jill knows every project is different and has its own challenges to tackle. But her accounting and estimating experience delivers detailed quotes to customers with consistency in explanation and pricing, incorporating custom designs and specific requirements. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State and a master’s degree from Friends University.

Jeff works with project superintendents to ensure tasks are managed, schedules are met, and jobs are getting built to plan and budget. His prior experience at a trucking company has come in handy, as he coordinates MJE’s haul trucks to make sure job sites have necessary equipment to keep projects moving.

Aaron grew up in the small town of Bendena, in the northeast corner of Kansas, and has been with MJE for 10 years. As a project manager, he ensures MJE’s work is of superior quality and on time, fitting the needs of its customers and addressing any issues that may arise on site.

Larry’s been around livestock all of his life and has designed and sold equipment for more than 20 years. That carried over to his free time, being a rodeo clown and bullfighter for 18 years. Larry currently helps design equipment that makes cattlemen’s jobs safer and more efficient for their livestock.

Joe’s hands-on experience with repairing and maintaining equipment began at an early age, growing up on a farm in northwest Kansas. He joined MJE 12 years ago after working with farm equipment dealers and dirt contractors. Away from MJE he enjoys woodworking, riding trails and spending time with his family.

Sandy keeps projects organized and on track by handling the paperwork for each job in the office. Working with project managers, she enters, codes and pays invoices to ensure the financial side of MJE has as strong a foundation as its construction projects. She also speaks Spanish, delivering an additional service to customers.

Leasa wears many hats in the office, not the least of which is the IT go-to person. She also keeps the busy office functioning at top efficiency, preparing reports and job analyses while assisting payroll. A volunteer with Gray County EMS for nearly a decade and a cantor at her church, Leasa is also a graduate of Wichita State.
