Leaders in Contracting and Construction
Since 1923, the Kansas Contractors Association has served as the premier professional association of contractors for Kansas. As stated on the KCA website, the mission is simple:
Working together, our members promote a better industry by advancing their level of skill, integrity and responsibility while improving the quality of life in our communities.
As members of KCA, contractors are provided with many educational, informative and industry-related products and services. KCA is a powerhouse in political and legislative activity and seeks to rebuild Kansas through goals and activities directly related to heavy, highway and utility construction. KCA works as a unit to lobby for transportation bills and raise money to support candidates and initiatives related to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
In 2020, Heather Jantz, our chief operating officer, was appointed to serve as a director-at-large for the KCA. Since 2011, Heather has worked for MJE in a variety of roles. She began her journey as a project manager in 2001. In this role, Heather gained the skills necessary to run a specialized construction enterprise. After six years, her role evolved as she moved to the estimation department of MJE, where she honed her job costing, crew efficiencies, scheduling and budgeting skills. She now co-owns and operates MJE, LLC, and our sister company, MJE Livestock Equipment in Montezuma, Kansas, alongside her brother, Aaron Jantz.
Connecting Kansans through the highway system is vital to many industries, including the agricultural and beef industries. Safe roads are an important component in transporting both food and goods throughout Kansas. MJE believes in the power of relationships. Our offices are in the western prairie of rural Kansas. Still, through the connections made in the field and through professional associations like KCA, MJE stays at the forefront of the construction industry.
