Prequalified Means No Surprises, No Complications
Safety is a top priority for MJE – physically and financially. Large-scale projects have many details and moving parts and our clients know that we have the experience, education and vetting to tackle big projects.
In the United States today, financial stability for many companies has become more uncertain. However, with over 45 years of experience, MJE has weathered fluctuations in the markets and politics and is stronger than ever before. Our clients have a partner they can count on from start to finish.
In civil and private work, it’s important to know who you’re doing business with. Many states require companies to be prequalified to bid on big projects. With decades of experience in the earthwork industry, MJE holds unlimited bidding qualifications status in Kansas and Colorado. We also hold high prequalified bidding statuses in several surrounding states, including Texas ($62 million), Oklahoma ($35 million), Nebraska ($24 million), and South Dakota ($98 million). Our solid financial standing means our partners know they can count on us to see a big project through to the end.
Projects can often have complicated billing structures and invoices, sometimes making it difficult to keep track of what’s been spent, what’s left to be billed, and how closely actual costs compare to the bid. Chrissy Hendrickson, our finance director, utilizes an invoicing system based on progressive billing. Clients only pay for work done to date. She works closely with project managers to ensure each invoice details the bid line items with an easy-to-follow structure so that accounting departments can match expectations and reality for project costs.
Physical safety is equally as important to the MJE process. Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is 0.80, well below the industry average of 1.0, according to safetymanagementgroup.com. Over the last few years, we’ve also worked hard to receive and maintain prequalification safety certificates with Avetta, SMISafety/Appruv, and 1st Verify. Director of Human Resources, Shannon Coleman, also designed and implemented a job site check-in program to ensure that our staff is identifiable at a glance, and job sites are secure from unwanted visitors.
Large-scale projects aren’t for amateurs. We take every job seriously and always strive to make complex projects run as smoothly as possible. Our clients know MJE maintains physical safety on the job and financial security in the office so we can concentrate on the work at hand.
